Dinner party at Broad Marston, Saturday June 28th

Hi James,

We were so involved having fun when you left that I didn't get a chance to thank you and your assistant for the dinner party. Suffice to say it was fabulous, and your cooking attracted loads of compliments. It was such a luxury to relax and enjoy such good food, to not have to worry about drinking, and - amazing! - to leave the dining room at the end of the night and realise we had no clearing up to do either!

I was incredibly impressed and will recommend you to my friends.

Dear James,

We arrived tired and hungry at around 9 pm after a horrendous journey from Devon because of an accident on the M6. Our meal was efficiently delivered prior to our arrival with excellent instructions and we enjoyed the first two courses before falling into bed exhausted. We ate at the local Pub (the Crown) the next evening but although we were encouraged by the chef to have a dessert we had seen our final course and so had no hesitation in refusing and rushing back to the Dovecote to enjoy an excellent raspberry roulade. Many thanks. We will recommend both Uppercourt and James Benson any time to all our friends.

I can't believe how easy it all was - you provided fantastic food and were helpful and completely unobtrusive- we wouldn't have known you were there had it not been for the superb food!

The presentation was excellent and the quality of the food was unquestionable. Please extend our sincere thanks to your assistants on the evening who set up and prepared everything, and whom left the kitchen absolutely pristine with everything cleared away and tidy when they left.

Benson of Broadway's hard work made an evening of eating in for ten so totally effortless it truly was as though a restaurant had come to us!!

What can I say that Jane hasn’t already said, the food was absolutely fantastic and your staff brilliant - they made us all feel very comfortable. It really made such a difference to have great food with the people you care most about and being able to be yourself with great staff who want to look after you.

From all the girls in the Coach House last weekend, I would like to express our sincere thanks for such wonderful service, food and most of all for being such a good sport!!! You, and your two staff did well to put up with the sheer noise of us.

Not only that, the food was absolutely (and this come from everyone) BEAUTIFUL!!! The barbecue food was still being eaten long into the evening there was so much of it… and such fantastic quality. We were really, really pleased, and it really made the weekend for our Hen Natalie, she had a fantastic time… and you are partly responsible for that, so we all thank you from the bottom of our (very drunk at the time, but very sober now) hearts.
